As traffic in major cities remains a problem in the urban scope, there is extensive research interest in applying innovative transportation and communication technology in congestion relief. The recent development in connected autonomous vehicles (CAVs) will change the way people commute and improve efficiency and safety of transportation, reduce carbon emissions at the same time.
